Wrought iron driveway gates provide the easiest pedestrian access, and double swing gates can span larger openings for trucks, forklifts, and multi-lane vehicle requirements. Gates that swing over sloped entrances require special consideration.

The Safety of  Wrought iron driveway gates

All existing gates should be periodically inspected, including the hardware. Vehicle damage, landscape growth, corrosion or vandalism can render the gate insecure and can also create dangerous conditions for pedestrians and vehicles. For roll gates, reinforced, positive stops should be in place for both directions of travel.

Gates should have permanent safety posts or “gate hooks” to prevent the gate from falling over if the rolling or guide hardware are damaged or removed.

Welcome to my summer project. We are thrilled with our new fence and Wrought iron driveway gate is the crowning glory. We finally got all the pieces and parts installed this weekend and it is just wonderful. Many people have complimented the gate, even driving in off the street to comment. If you have a small street sign, I would be happy to display it for a while. I live on one of Nashville’s busiest corners so it would get a lot of exposure. I have already begun digging my post holes for the second gate. Please add the pictures to your hall of fame. If I remember right, you offered an extra mini remote in return for completed photos. That would be very nice.
