How was the highly realistic bronze moose statue made?

The highly realistic bronze moose statue is a favorite of many people and could be used to decorate outdoor places such as zoos, theme parks, and gardens. As a first-class quality bronze sculpture factory, how does YouFine make highly realistic moose sculptures?

In order to make the most vivid bronze animal statues, our bronze casting masters studied much information about moose and viewed many photos and videos. For this reason, our artists have built a special farm to raise animals in order to perfectly grasp the characteristics of these animals. Therefore, before making a real-size bronze moose statue, our bronze casting masters would also specialize in the characteristics of moose.

Information About the Appearance of the Moose:

Moose is the largest and tallest deer in the world (Note: Giraffes are not part of the deer family). They generally have a body length of 200-260 cm and a shoulder height of 160-240 cm, which is taller than most rhinos. The weight of China is generally 400-600 kg, but the body length of North America is up to 300 cm, most of them weigh up to 700 kg, and the highest record is about 1000 kg, which could be called a behemoth among deer.

The tall body of the moose is very similar to that of a camel, and the four long legs are similar to that of a camel. The shoulders are particularly high, and they are like the hump on the back of a camel. The coat color of the whole body of the moose is tan, and the coat color in summer is much darker than that in winter. The head is large, the eyes are small, the face is particularly long, the neck is very short, the nose is enlarged and a little drooping, and the upper lip is enlarged and elongated, 5-6 cm longer than the lower lip. In addition, it has no upper canine teeth, which is different from other deer.

Both male and female animals have a pillar of meat under their throats with many drooping hairs called jaw sacs, but males are more developed. The body is short and thick, looking out of proportion to the 4 slender legs. Its tail is also very short, only 7-10 cm.

Only male animals have horns on their heads, which are also the largest among deer, and their horns are of special shape. After extending a short section to the left and right sides, the eyebrow branches and the main stem are divided, extending horizontally, and the middle is wide, much like a cactus, with many tines growing in the front third, up to 30-40. The length of each corner is more than 100 cm, the longest is 180 cm, the width is about 40 cm, the width of the two corners is 230-160 cm, and the weight could reach 30-40 kg.

About the Casting Process of the Bronze Sculpture:

After reviewing the above information, we would start casting the bronze moose statue according to the customer’s needs. In the casting process of bronze sculptures, YouFine uses the traditional lost wax method. The lost wax method is a production process in ancient China. In modern times, it is still the method used to present the finest details of metal products. Such products are often difficult to manufacture due to their cumbersome design. The lost wax method allows any metal to completely and faithfully reproduce the appearance of its wax pattern. So this is one of the reasons for our highly realistic moose sculptures.

Casting Process:

Making the clay model: The clay model is the key to creating highly realistic moose statues and the foundation of bronze sculptures. We have professional mud model studios and mud model-making masters, which could guarantee the perfect restoration of every detail and feature of the moose.

Making wax models: For moose statues like this, we usually use silicone to turn the models, which could retain every fine detail.

Pouring wax to make a wax mold: After the mold is turned over, pour the melted paraffin into the already made silicone mold, and after the paraffin cools, disassemble the mold to form a wax mold (hollow wax shell). In this step, we would repair the wax pattern many times to prevent some details from being lost in the process of turning the wax mold.

Casting: Put the wax mold into the heat-resistant mold, burn the wax inside the shell at high temperature, then pour copper water into the quartz sand shell, cool it, and shape it.

Grinding, splicing, and processing welds.

Coloring, oiling, and sealing wax.

We would pay attention to details in every step, and a professional QC team would strictly inspect every detail. So, this is why our bronze moose statue is so realistic.
