Outside the Los Angeles Lakers’ downtown arena is a famous statue of NBA player Kobe Bryant. Unveiled in early February, the 19-foot bronze statue has become a popular photo spot and gathering place for Lakers fans.
The statue is the first of three to be built in memory of Kobe and his daughter Gianna, who died in a helicopter accident in 2020. The sculpture depicts a peak moment in Kobe Bryant’s career. On January 22, 2006, Kobe scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors, wearing the No. 8 jersey and pointing his finger to the sky. The statue looks thinner, reminiscent of his younger self.
Created by Jewish Artist:
This lifelike bronze sculpture was created by a Jewish artist. In honor of the late basketball star, the Kobe Bryant statue stands on a 19-foot marble pedestal that features his many achievements. The sculptor Julie Rotblatt Amrany’s name was added to the pedestal.
More NBA Sculptures:
Weighing 4,000 pounds and standing 19 feet tall, Kobe’s bronze statue is the largest of the seven statues they have created for the Lakers, three feet taller than Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and two feet taller than Magic Johnson. During the unveiling, the Lakers announced that two more statues had been commissioned, one depicting Kobe and his daughter Gianna, and the other depicting Kobe’s No. 24 jersey.
YouFine is 100% Replicable:
Our artists have been sculpting bronze figures for 30 years and are also avid NBA fans. Of course, during their careers, they have cast many sculptures of famous basketball players to commemorate their glorious moments. In particular, we make a clay model of the same scale before casting the sculpture. This model will be modified continuously at the discretion of the client and the artist until it can finally show the athlete’s expression and appearance.
If you want to commemorate your favorite basketball player, you can entrust us to cast an NBA statue. Believe in our strength, we will definitely allow you to express your nostalgia and admiration for basketball and Kobe Bryant. Thank him for bringing us many beautiful memories and indelible glorious moments in the basketball world.
