The Bronze Shakyamuni Buddha Statue is one of the most representative sculptures of Buddhism. The founder of Buddhism was the prince of the Kingdom of Kabira in the Indian mainland more than 2,000 years ago. Because he is a Sakyamut, he is called Sakyamuni.
Each Bronze Shakyamuni Buddha Statue is purely made by hand and because of each statue is different. The production is very primitive and it usually need many techniques and precise skills. It takes months of work to make one Bronze Buddha Statue for our bronze masters.
First a mixture of clay and other materials is made. Based on this, the global shape of the statue is finished. This is covered with a thin layer of wax in which the details of Bronze Shakyamuni Buddha Statue’s image are craved. Then our masters would cover this layer with another layer of clay.
At the bottom of the shape, the artist will make holes. Then everything is heated in the primitive kiln, so that the wax melts out of the shape. Until now, the shape is finished. Then the bronze is melted and weakened in the commercial center. When the statue is cooled, the clay would be removed. After this, our bronze masters need to polish this Bronze Buddha Statue carefully, which is a complicated process, so the statue would be polished for several days, sometimes weeks before finishing.
