Do You Know How to Spray-Paint on the Surface of the Modern Stainless Steel Sculptures?

The construction process of surface painting in Modern stainless steel sculpture processing is very important. How does the surface painting work in stainless steel sculpture processing work? There have three part to introduce this process.

Part 1, The construction tools that need to be used in the processing of stainless steel sculpture are: air pump, gas filter tank, air duct and spray gun.

Part2, Construction:

The cleanliness of the metal surface used in the processing of stainless steel seriously affects the bonding force of the painted paint layer. The residual or adsorbed water, oil and other foreign matter on the surface of the workpiece are not cleaned, and pinholes and nodules are often generated. Failure such as peeling or poor bonding.

A: According to the material considerations, after phosphating, the paint should be sprayed in time within 24 hours. The steel parts must be sprayed and sprayed within six hours after sandblasting and shot peening. This Modern stainless steel sculpture processing method is a good way to improve the adhesion of the coating film to the substrate and enhance its corrosion resistance.

The separation of oil and water in the compressed air used for spraying is not complete enough, so that the compressed air contains excessive amounts of water and oil, which will inevitably affect the quality of the spray coating film layer and cause various fault defects. Therefore,Modern stainless steel sculpture processing workers can tell everyone that it is necessary to insist on regularly cleaning and replacing the filtrate in the oil-water separation facility to keep the compressed air clean and clean, which is beneficial to improve the performance of the painted paint layer.

B: The influence of the temperature and humidity of the paint painting site on the quality of the spray coating film layer is very obvious. It should be noted that the construction site temperature of the stainless steel sculpture processing should be in the range of 10 to 30 °C, and the relative humidity should not exceed 80%. The construction site must be kept clean, clean and orderly.

The temperature is too high, the relative humidity is large, the painted paint layer is easy to be white, showing orange peel, etc., and when the temperature is too low, the paint layer is easy to flow, which has an adverse effect on the quality of the coated metal surface coating.

C: Metal surface painting and painting operations are generally performed by air spraying. Note that the distance between the spray gun and the surface to be sprayed is in the range of 200 to 300 mm, and the compressed air pressure is controlled at 2 to 4 kg/cm2, so that the paint quality can be effectively guaranteed.

D: According to the performance of the coating used in the processing of Modern stainless steel sculpture, it is possible to more effectively exert the anti-corrosion protection effect of the spray coating layer by applying the types of materials selected for the loss of the environment and the like. The choice of paint base, solvent and auxiliaries should be appropriate, the mixing ratio must be strictly in accordance with the process requirements, to ensure that the mixing is fully uniform, to ensure dilution to the specified working viscosity.

E: The painting process in Modern stainless steel sculpture processing generally adopts the method of spraying the primer once, the paint in one pass and the top coat. When spraying the first nitro varnish, the primer and putty are oily, and it is easy to be melted by the diluent to produce bubbles and wrinkles.

Therefore, the spraying speed is slightly faster. After the spraying, it is dried and polished by water sandpaper. Spray it again. The thickness of the primer film is not less than 75 μm, the medium paint film is not less than 100 μm, and the thickness of the top coat is not less than 50 μm. After the paint is finished, the total dry paint thickness is not less than 225 μm.

F: The requirements for surface painting of non-standard products shall be carried out according to the technical conditions of the products.

Part3, the later stage of  Modern stainless steel sculpture processing:

After completion, the shelf life of paint sprayed according to common sense is 2 years, but the environment is also the cause of paint cracking; the organic component of the structural material, the brown or black thin layer paint that oxidizes and/or polymerizes at high temperature and air. The causes of sediments are as follows:

1: The paint film ages and naturally cracks.

2: Prevention and treatment of cracking of paint film

2.1 If cracking occurs due to aging of the paint film, use a blade to shovel the film about 10 cm on both sides of the crack to expose the substrate and find out the cause of the crack.
2.2 Repair the crack with atomic ash. After drying, sandpaper is smoothed, no debris, dry and then coated with the next paint; the first layer of the top coat should be thin and thin, and then the second layer after drying.

2.3: Do not apply thick, the total thickness should not exceed 150μm.

3, Notes: Modern stainless steel sculpture processing :

3.1 In case of heavy rain during spraying, the constructed part must be covered to prevent rain.

3.2 The temperature is below 5 degrees Celsius, and it is not suitable for construction on windy days or rainy days.

3.3 When spraying the same spray surface with multiple spray guns, the same type of “gun plug” should be used.
