Bronze Sculpture Details:
This is a famous Philip Jackson sculpture. One of our clients was very interested in this design, so he contacted us to ask if we could make the same sculpture for a park in his city. After checking the size and details of the original Glass Shoe sculpture, we gave a reasonable price. Thus, production started quickly and smoothly.
Precisely Determine the Sculptural Design:
After receiving the client’s photo, we looked online for more photos of the original sculpture. For production, there are three difficulties. The color of the original figure sculpture is close to white, the exposed skin is smooth, but the clothing surface is rough. For these three points, through about two hours, we provide an accurate production plan. Our clients were so pleased with it that our artists started making clay molds very quickly.
Delicate Clay Models:
After confirming the design, our masters start to prepare the clay material and internal structure. First, our masters printed more than 20 photos of the original. If you look closely at the photos of the original, you may notice that the bare skin is smooth, but the clothing surface is rough. So when our master is making the clay mold, we need to make the clay mold into two different finishes. Regarding the dress and face shape, our masters modified the mold again and again to achieve a similarity of more than 95% with the original design.
Proficient Welding and Polishing Techniques:
We cast bronze castings using the lost wax method. After the bronze is cast, it is divided into several pieces. So our master needs to put each piece together, and then weld them one by one. Our artists use a combination of spot welding and full welding. So the sculpture would be very strong and not easily damaged. After welding, there would be some seams on the bronze outdoor sculpture. So our master would polish the skin part and handle the other parts separately. Eventually, you would see that the surface of the Glass Shoe sculpture is very smooth.
Natural Chemical Coloring:
After welding and polishing, our master would do the patina. This white is difficult to handle. As you could see the white is a bit different, it’s also a bit grey. It is a mix of white and grey. Our master mixes the colors many times to find the perfect one. So the finished work is very beautiful and very close to the original. Moreover, this chemical coloring method could ensure that the surface color of the sculpture is more and more natural and beautiful.
