University Mascot Bronze Cougar Statue BAN-054

Standing tall at 15 feet, the Cougar Pride monument pays homage to the noble bronze cougar statue. This colossal feline, weighing a staggering 4,500 pounds and stretching over 14 feet from nose to tail, was commissioned by Gary Schneidmiller (WSU Class of 1971) and brought to life by the talented artists Mike Fields and Chester Fields.

The Cougar Pride Story:

Commissioned by Washington State University, the Cougar Memorial Mascot, Cougar Pride High, portrays a majestic cougar perched atop a rugged rock, exuding regal grace and strength. This sculpture captures the essence of a cougar’s swift and powerful movement, symbolizing the spirit and pride of the institution.

As a tribute to the university’s legacy, this sculpture replaces the longstanding tradition of a live cougar mascot named “Butch.” We specialize in casting faithful replicas of the bronze life-size cougar statue, complete with a luxurious patina that adds to its allure.
