Alice in Wonderland Sculpture Details:

This is a famous sculpture made by Dali. One of our clients is very interested in this design, so he contacted us to check whether could we make the same sculpture for a public park in his city. After checking the size and details of the original sculpture, we gave a reasonable price. So the production began to proceed quickly and smoothly.

Production Process:

1- Confirm design

After receiving a photo from the client, we checked more photos of the original sculpture on the Internet. Our team and experienced masters took about one hour to discuss how to deal with the “rope part”. Because the “rope part” makes the sculpture higher and packing bigger, it would be difficult to ship. Finally, we came up with a good idea. We could make the “rope part” separately, then it could be inserted into Alice’s hands. In this way, the shipping could be easier, and many shipping costs could be saved.

2- Clay Mold

After confirming the design, our masters began to prepare the clay material and inner structure. Firstly, our masters printed out more than 20 pieces of photos of the original work. If you look at the photos carefully, you may notice that Alice’s head is made of many flowers, her face is made of many leaves, and her hands are made of flowers. So our masters need to pinch every flower and leaf with clay. This work needs much patience and love for sculptures. So this process from unshaped clay to shape is very difficult and great. In addition, our masters revise the mold again and again to achieve more than 95% similarity with the original design.

3- Cast Bronze

After clay mold is confirmed, our masters would go on to the next step. The next step is cast bronze. This process involves about 33 procedures, very difficult and high demanded. We must use our most professional masters to do.

4- Welding and Polishing

After the bronze is cast, they are several pieces. So our masters need to put every piece together and then weld them one by one. Here is a photo of our masters are welding the sculpture. After welding, there would be some joints on the sculptures. So our masters would polish the whole sculpture in order to smooth the surface.

5- Patina

After welding and polishing, our masters do the patina. This color is difficult to deal with. Because you could see that the body of Alice is very gold, we need highly-experienced masters to do high polishing to achieve this gold color effect. Then we deal with the green color of the dress. The finished work is very beautiful and close to the original work.

So if you are interested in any famous sculptures, more than welcome to send us the image, then we could give you a price to check.
